Kingston Mines, Chicago’s famous blues club, rocked with 200 Inland Press Association members during the Inland Annual Convention on October 27. The event was co-sponsored by Shaw Newspapers, Parade Magazine, and Cribb, Greene & Associates.
Drinks and pizza were followed by Joanna Connor with an acoustic blues set and the John Primer Real Deal Blues Band playing electric blues. Highlights included impromptu vocals by Rex Rust of Rust Communications and Bill Block of Block Communications, and some serious dancing by many Inlanders. John Cribb sat in with the John Primer Band for guitar and vocals on “The Newspaper Blues,” a tune for the occasion.
Cribb and partner Gary Greene said they wanted to thank all attendees and in particular Tom Shaw of Shaw Newspapers and Alan Wolfgang of Parade Magazine. “Our good friends Tom and Alan took the little Cribb, Greene Underground Blues Tour to new heights.”
