Winnemucca, NV

The sale of the Winnemucca Publishing Company, owners of a daily newspaper and regional shopper publications in Nevada, has been announced. Jim Hicks and John Cribb of Bolitho-Cribb & Associates represented the sellers.

Winnemucca Publishing Company, owned by Mark and June McMahon of Libby, Montana, publishes the Humboldt Sun, a five-day per week 4,400 circulation daily serving a three county area of northwest Nevada.

Purchasing the property, which includes a six-unit press and associated real estate in Winnemucca, was Diversified Suburban Newspapers, Inc. of Denver, Colorado.

The publications serve a growing area of northern Nevada which has been impacted by large gold mining operations in recent years. This region is also developing into an agricultural center featuring potato processing and alfalfa production. Located on the major Interstate 80 route between Salt Lake City, Reno, and San Francisco, Winnemucca has been enjoying growth in the areas of tourism as well.

Bolitho-Cribb & Associates is a publishing company brokerage firm with offices in Montana, Wyoming, and Florida.
