Needham, MA

August 04, 2004

On August 4, 2004, Symphony Publishing, LLC, a new company formed by Zapis Capital Group of Westlake, Ohio, acquired the assets of Larkin Publications, publishers of Musical Merchandise Review, School Band and Orchestra, and Choral Director magazines as well as various trade directories and annual publications, according to Gary Greene/Tom Karavakis, Cribb & Associates, who represented the seller in the transaction.

Musical Merchandise Review, now marking its 125th anniversary, was originally purchased by the Larkin organization in 1981. Zapis announced that management of Musical Merchandise Review, School Band and Orchestra, and Choral Director will remain intact. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
